Nothing is as exhilarating for the watercolorist as placing those luminous jewels of pigment onto the fresh white page. Unless, of course, you can never seem to get the glowing color you want. Let’s face it… it can be a big source of frustration for the beginner and experienced painter alike. 

It does not need to be! Color should be magical and fun.

During this four-week journey we will deep dive into all aspects of color theory, but in straight forward and simple terms, with plenty of exercises to really get it into practice, once and for all. We will explore what REALLY matters when choosing our paints, and what doesn’t, and how to get to a place of intuitive color choices and mixing habits that create harmony each and every time. This course is NOT based a split primary system, although we do cover it.

I have spent more than a decade studying color and how it is applied to a watercolor painting and I want to share my experience and knowledge with you. My approach isn’t always traditional, but it is effective and it is FUN. Each week a new lesson unfolds, building on what came before, so you end up with a comprehensive path to truly understanding how to make color work FOR you, and to stop struggling to get it just right. I will share my best secrets and also my very favorite paints to have on my palette, and why. We can create beautiful color with even the most basic of watercolor sets, but why stop there? It is delicious to have many ingredients available to us as we sit down to create.

You do not have to participate in the forum, but it is a rich part of my courses and I highly recommend it.
